Summer Time

 Memorial day weekend is the official kickoff to summer.

This year however was very low key.

 Typically we go away for the long weekend but

 we didn't get our plans made in time.

So we stayed home and laid low for 4 days.

I planted my annual flowers and spruced up the yard a little.

There was a time in my life when I went crazy planting flats of flowers.

But one of the things I changed up when we built our home 4 years ago

was that I wanted to make everything as low maintenance as possible.

That included the yard work.

Most of the landscaping is perennial flowers and bushes.

I do however plant a few pots with flowers/greenery.

Nothing to extravagant I prefer to spend my time doing

other things besides, weeding and dead heading flowers.

These aren't even real. (gasp)

Did you realize there are only about 92 days of summer?

That's not nearly enough in my opinion.

I don't want to waste them with work gloves and pruning shears.

On Monday evening, the Grand baby

came over and Grandpa took her fishing!

Of course I went along to document it as best as I could.
