Yesterday was my Birthday!

Yay ME

These beautiful flowers are just some of the gifts my great family bestowed upon me.

As  I usually do on my B-day I played hookie and didn't go into work.

The bad part is everyone else was working,

except for Cadence so she came and spent the day with me.

(This is another thing I love about Grandbabys they don't work, so they are always available.)

I spent the day doing all the things I like most.

just something I saw and thought she would be cute in.

I ended the day with dinner at home

with all the "kids" & John, my day was complete.

Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

Sunday September 26th,   Saturday, September 25th 2010

I woke up nice and early this morning and headed out to my BFF's

to pick her up so we could get into the city to do the 5K.

This would be my 5th time to run this event.

As we were headed into the city something just didn't feel right.

I found my usual parking place one block off of lake shore drive

 and we headed on foot to Grant Park where the race would begin.

HMMMMMM..........something still was not quite right.

*I had my entry money

*I had my camera

*I had my new PINK t -shirt on

What was it?

As we got closer to the park I spotted a girl

coming from that direction and I ask her if she could tell us

where the race began.

"Oh"  she says that was yesterday

"WHAT...... ITS ALWAYS RAN ON A SUNDAY"

(The bad part is I was on line last night checking the start time

and never realized it was to be on Saturday, September 25th)

I know I have been lightening my hair.........

but I'm not that BLOND am I?

(oops sorry Suzy no offense)

After much giggling, and apologies on my part 

 we decided since we were in the city in our running shoes

we might as well get our exercise in.

After all it was Sunday and we usually meet on

 Sundays to walk anyway.

So we headed to the lake front to walk.

This is Beth she stopped to take our picture for us and confirmed

YES she had ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in another

city and it was changed to Saturday there too.

All was not lost we had a beautiful walk in the city

and coffee at Dunkin Donuts, what more could you ask for?

A day devoted just to her

 (I mean really who doesn't like a day devoted just to them?)

You could see the look of excitement on Zedas' face  

when we pulled up and saw this old girl entered in the competition.

But then Curses they put her next to one of the cutest

most popular girls in the class!

I hate it when that happens.

They try to compare you with some one who is

younger, faster, and has the perfect body.

And then of course "SQURLY" was there,

We all know one.

The show off with her big boobies engine sticking out.

The one who always has to be the center of attention.

and of course the "Blond Bombshell"

I mean really how can you compete with that?

Sorry Zeda.......

I'm sure if they had a category for

BEST PERSONALITY you would of won.

Yesterday I had to was lucky enough to attend the

RE/MAX  Northern Illinois annual

Brokers /  Managers  Meeting

in Chicago.

8 hours packed full of exciting information.

 The AGENDA:

9:00 am  Opening comments by Regional owners

10:00 -12:00   State of the Economy (2 cups of coffee)

12:00 -1:00  Light but tastey lunch

1:00 -2:00 Recruiting & Retaining New Agents (Diet Pepsi & 2 sugar cookies)

2:00 - 3:00 Were all in this together  ZZZZZZ ZZZZ (1 cup of coffee & 1 high octane energy chew)

3:00 - 4:30 Enhancing your office website

4:30- 5:30 Closing Statements by Regional Owners (ooops not feeling quite right)

5:00 - 6:30 Ride home in the back seat of an SUV in stop and go traffic from Chicago feeling nauseated / light headed and sweaty  the whole way (damn that high octane energy chew)

6:32 - 3:00am At home sleeping it off as best as possible

3:00am  Wide awake now watching TV with Pokie drinking a Diet Pepsi  Vanilla and eating "Bugels" (after all I did miss dinner)

Wheres the Silver Lining you Say?

While flipping thru channels I see on QVC

only 100 days till Christmas!
