31 years and counting

Last Friday John celebrated 30 yrs at ExxonMobil

(he has really been there 31 yrs but we were a little busy this past yr

with a new house, and a new granddaughter)

Quiet an accomplishment since the average american worker only stays 5.1 years at the same job!

any how....Exxon gives you money to throw your own anniversary party

SO WE DID!

They allow you to invite family and of course Exxon employees

SO WE DID!

they do however limit the guest list to 35 people plus immediate family.

But they do give you a very generous budget.

The food was awesome as was the company....

You know how actors always say they don't want to be in a scene with a baby or a puppy

that they always steal the show!

It's True!

But honestly I don't think John would have wanted it any other way!

Its all relative

I was out showing houses this week!

" Yes homes are still selling"

Its funny I get that question all the time when people see me out in the stores or on the street, basically anywhere. Anyone who knows me wants to know "HOW BAD IS IT?"

I always say homes are selling they just need to be priced right....

like every other thing if the price is right someone will buy!

OK Sorry this wasnt going to be that type of blog.

Anyway back to my showing I have to call the listing agent directly because it is after hours.

A very nice voice on the other end tells me she has the showing all set and I just need to go to the house and the seller WILL BE HOME. Great thats always easy

She also informs me that they are an "elderly" couple

and they will just open up the door and get out of my way.

Great that sounds good too!

So off I go with this in mind.

But! when I get there much to my surprise I'm greeted by this "Elderly" couple

OK this is not the actual photo of the couple. I googled "Elderly Couple" and these images came up.

(My Broker frowns upon us snapping random shots of homeowners and posting them on the internet)

But you get the point

Seriously? I was giggling to myself, wondering if this could really be the "Elderly Couple"

Miss Tami from Coldwell Banker said would greet me at the door.

And it was....they were a very nice couple, down sizing

because their last child was getting ready to move out.

Yikes that strikes a familar cord!

So when Miss Tami (with an I) calls me for some Feedback

I just might give her a piece of my "Elderly" mind......

Or maybe not because it was pretty funny!

It's gonna be a great day!

Yup thats the SUN you see coming up!

I like to start each morning with a cup of coffee or two

and sit quietly and read ,reflect, daydream, pray.

I do believe that

"Your Best Life begins each Morning."

If you start your day out listening to the morning news

your going to be bombarded with all the negative stuff.

Unemployement at an all time high
3 killed during home invasion
Fiji declared 30 day state of emergency
2 wolves kill special education teacher
Obama gives ....

Ok you get the point

no need to worry that you will miss some important late breaking news. Our society likes to play on the negative, so it will be repeated over and over and over again thru out the day (trust me on that one)

Call me a Pollyanna if you will.

But it makes much more sense to me to start out in a peaceful state and work from there.

That way when negative things come up in the day (and they will) your better equipped to handle them.

So go ahead feast your eyes on that cute little Chick on the window sill basking in the early morning sun.

And say to your self!

Its a good life!

P.S. did I mention I have a beautiful new Granddaughter!
